Thursday Afternoon Bible Study

The Thursday Bible Study will meet On Thursday May 17, 2012 at 1:00 PM.  We will continue our study of the Epistle of James. We will be looking at Chapter 2:14-26.  This study will take us into biblical debate that has been raging in the Christian world for years.  Look at the scripture and see if you can discern what the debate is about.  Hint: This scripture passage has been cited in Christian theological debates, especially regarding the doctrine of justification.  Gaius Marius Victorinus (4th century) openly questioned whether James's teachings were heretical.  This passage has also been contrasted with the teachings of Paul on justification.  What more could you possible need to simulate your curiosity.  If you are only able to take a late lunch from your work—come on and bring a sack lunch or take-out.  We absolutely start a 1:00PM and ARE ABSOLUTELY DONE AT 2:00 PM.
