Senior Minister

We are currently searching for candidates for the position of Senior Minister.  FCCBRLA is a vibrant, caring, growing, spiritual church, searching for the perfect fit of a senior minister. 

FCCBRLA is engaging in the Search and Call process which involves a committee of dedicated volunteers from FCCBRLA and the support of our Regional Minister.

Rev. Don Bohlcke, Transitional Senior Minister

On May 1, 2012 Rev. Don Bohlcke will join FCCBRLA to serve as Transitional Senior Minister.  We are thrilled to have Don join the team and look forward to all the ways that he will journey with us and minister with us during this transition.

Rev. Don Bohlcke grew up in Louisiana, in Shreveport. He received his BA degree from TCU, and received his seminary degree from Brite Divinity School there at TCU. Following his freshman year at TCU he was the founding minister of the First Christian Church of Bossier City La. During his seminary years he served as youth minister and associate minister of Lubbock View Christian Church in Lubbock Texas. Upon graduation from seminary, he was called as Youth Minister, and Campus Minister with First Christian Church in Houston, Texas. When the senior minister in Houston left to become the Church Relations Director for TCU, Don was called to University Christian Church in Austin to serve as Campus Minister at the University of Texas. He served there for eight years before being called to the First Christian Church in Richardson Texas as senior minister.

Don ultimately went into the financial services industry, where he worked for 25 years in sales, management, and training. He retired from Lincoln Financial Advisors as a Financial Advisor in 2001, and returned to full time ministry serving as a Transitional Minister. He has now served ten different churches, from suburban churches around Dallas, to inner city churches in Dallas, as well as churches in west Texas, Virginia and Oklahoma.

Don is married to Donna, who is a very active leader at her home church of Northway Christian Church in Dallas, where she has served as Elder and as Chair of the Board. Don and Donna were married in 2000. She continues to be a very active and vital member of that congregation. Donna is a certified Spiritual Director, her certification being issued through Perkins School of Theology at SMU.

Don is the proud father of two daughters. The oldest, Beth lives in California and is an Educational Therapist. She is the mother of Don's only two grandchildren. Laura lives in the Dallas area, and has her own company in Television production.
