Activities
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Vacation Bible School will be held on our campus Monday, June 16- Friday, June 20 from 8:45 - 12;00. There will be Bible stories, videos, crafts, snacks, songs and more! If you are age 4 - 5th grade, come and join the fun. You can register through the church office.
Church Activities
Our younger youth (6 & up) serve as Acolytes and the high school youth serve as Deacons.
Many of our youth participate in the musical and dramatic programs of our church throughout the year.
Food Drive for Southeast Ministries
During the year the children of the church collect canned foods and bring them to youth group or church. The canned goods are then delivered to Southeast Ministries, our local food bank.
MISSIONS
LA CASITAS MISSION TRIP - MATAMORAS, MEXICO
June 2008 - The older youth and adult church memebers will be traveling to Matamoras, Mexico to build two casitas (little houses). Fundraisers to support the mission are underway and the children are participating in them.
GENERAL ASSEMBLY, Fort Worth, TX - July 21-25, 2007
In lieu of a mision trip, The CYF youth attended the Disciples of Christ General Assembly in Forh Worth, TX. They were accompanied by Rev. Michael Karunas, Andrew Packman, and sponsors George and Carol Rabb. The General Assembly is a national biennial gathering of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) that included over 7,000 participants. In recent years, there has been an effort to involve the youth in the assembly.
The theme for the assembly was "Share The Feast" (Matthew 14:13-21). Rev. Dr. Sharon Watkins, General Minister and President of the Disciples of Christ denomination, presided. A chalice exchange among the churches was part of the event. Our group brought home a blue and white glass chalice from Oregon.
