Kids Youth Fellowship (KYF)

Ages 4 - 6

Kid's Youth Fellowship is a wonderful experience for our children and an excellent way to begin Christian learning and fellowship that will last them a lifetime. KYF, previously for Kindergarteners through 2nd graders, was so popular that parents were asking if their 4 year olds could come. To answer that call, we have added four year olds to the program this year. The seven years olds have moved on to the Junior Youth Fellowship to make room!

The KYF sponsors teach basic bible principles and stories through music, crafts, games, and storytelling. A shared worship and prayer circle is a very special part of every meeting. Their KYF experience reinforces the lessons learned in Sunday School, Children's Sermon, and Children's Church in an atmosphere of fun and fellowship.

The children start their evening with community games and dinner with the other groups. It is heart-warming to see the littlest ones playing, eating, and interacting with the high school kids. After the meal, the KYF meet with the sponsors in their own room that is theme decorated, sprinkled with the kids' artwork. There they have stories, crafts, music and dance. Guests are often brought in to teach new skills and do hands on projects. Several times during the year, the children do age appropriate mission projects for those less fortunate. We hope your child will be able to join us.

Junior Youth Fellowship (JYF)

Ages 7 - 5th grade

The Junior Youth Fellowship consists of children from age 7 through and including 5th graders. This group is a wonderful environment for children of this age group to continue learning and discovering the wonders of Jesus Christ and how he works to make life full and different. The concept this year is to follow the word of Jesus to learn what he said and how he wants us to act. Our focus will be on missions.

The Group begins their afternoon with community games and meal with the other groups. They then meet with their sponsors in their classroom for individual group activities. The room is theme decorated by the kids with their own craft and artwork as a focal point. The JYF kids enjoy learning Bible principles and concepts through discussions and activities. Fun and fellowship in a Christian atmosphere is an important fundamental for this group. Projects and crafts are a creative way the children express what they have learned.

Our goal is to nurture lifelong active Christian leaders. The shared group worship that closes each meeting is an essential part of their growth and development as leaders in the church. Once a month, the JYF will create and lead the worship experience for the rest of the groups. Additionally, they will perform in church as part of the 10:50 worship service once a quarter. We hope your child will be able to join us!

Chi Rho

6th - 8th grade

Chi Rho is FCC's Junior High Youth group. The name Chi Rho comes from the first two letters of Christ in Greek. Sixth, seventh, and eighth grade youth attend Sunday Night Youth Group (SNYG) where they play games, enjoy a meal, worship and meet together as a group to do Bible study, engage in service projects and pray together. Highlights from the last year are: a pool party, reading Scripture in worship, creating and participating in dramatic presentations in worship, Bible trivia games, a mall scavenger hunt, and the Maundy Thursday youth lock-in/prayer retreat. This year's Chi Rho sponsors are Amy Taliaferro and Amy Ziettlow.

Christian Youth Fellowship (CYF)

9th - 12th grade

CYF stands for Christian Youth Fellowship and is the name of the youth group for our high schoolers. CYF meets on Sundays from 4:30 - 6:30 with the other youth groups. After participating in a time of fellowship with the entire group and meal time, they gather in the CYF room for a time of discussion. Topics of discussion usually center around current topics, biblical teachings and how God's word is reflected in daily life. CYF always ends each weekly meeting by participating in a short worship service that they plan once a month. CYF also tries to put an emphasis on mission work and participates in several mission projects per year. CYF believes in the quote from St. Teresa of Avila, "Christ has no body on this earth but yours, no hands on this earth but yours, no feet on this earth but yours."
